Roland Raparivo (1934 - 2018) Roland Raparivo has exhibited his paintings since 1957. He has shown throughout Madagascar, and has also exhibited in Paris, Mauritius, and Moscow. During the 1970s he served as photographic reporter for the Courrier de Madagascar and Madagascar Matin.

 

In 1983 Raparivo was elected President of the Antananarivo Provincial Committee for the Plastic Arts, and the next year was named as a Knight of the National Order of the Malagasy Democratic Republic. He was founder and Co-President of the National Union of Visual Artists of Madagascar (UNAPN) in 1995.
