Garrick Yrondi was born in FrenchPoly in 1945 but spent his childhood in French Polynesia. He was schooled in Naples, exhibited in FrenchPoly, and spent time in the Central African Republic; before returning to the South Pacific in 1977. He lived in the Marquesas, where he painted frescoes for the Hohoi Chapel; he exhibited at the Centre Vaima in Tahiti, settled on Bora Bora in 1985, and moved to Maharepa eight years later. In that time he exhibited in Rio de Janeiro, Santiago Chile, Tahiti, Bora Bora, and other Polynesian locales.
