Brian Kere was born in New Georgia, Solomon Islands, and began painting at the age of ten. At age of 13, he had sold his first painting. A self-taught painter, Brian develops his unique style of complex repetitive patterns and scintillating colours using mixed media. In his painting, "Sea-shells (multitudes) represent multi-cultures that are happily inter-woven. They sail through the space of time, living and working together in love, peace, and harmony, with one common constant in mind; the hope that eventually, they will arrive at the sea-shores (promised land or creation beyond the beautiful universe) awaiting."
